  1. A rather severe error in the grain and hop database functions was found and corrected. The error caused some new entries and or clones to never have the ability to be picked correctly, or an in-correct choice to be made in the picking dialogs. The exact circumstances that would case this were:

    • If a Malt/Grain entry was made, and the SRM color was set to 2 decimal place accuracy. IE a color entry of 8.09 would cause entries to fail, while a color entry of 8.1 or 9.0 would not.
    • If a Malt/Grain entry was made, and the Gravity was set to 4 decimal place accuracy. IE a gravity entry of 1.0455 would cause entries to fail, while a gravity entry of 1.045 or 1.04 would not.
    • If a Hop entry was made, and the Alpha value was set to 3 decimal place accuracy. IE a alpha entry of 4.005 would cause entries to fail, while an alpha entry of 4.00 or 4.05 or 4.5 would not.

The reason for the failure is because all the the Malt/Grain picking dialogs round color up to 1 decimal place and gravity to 3, while the Hop dialog rounds alpha to 2 decimal places. As the lists are alpha-sorted and the database is not, these numbers are used in comparing entries from the list to the actual database, and the rounding was causing entries to not be picked correctly, falling through to another error that then picked the wrong error. The errors have been corrected and SRM Color, Gravity and Alpha amounts are now rounded to the correct decimal position no matter what you enter them as.

  2. The Save functionality for both recipes and batch files now works in accordance to standard Windows convention. On the File menus, you will now notice a Save and a Save As option. Once a recipe and/or brew session has initially been named and saved, reloading and saving will no longer nag you for a filename, but simply save the file. You can now choose the Save-As option to save the file under a different name. Clicking the 'Save' button on either the Recipe and Brewing session screen will cause the recipe to simply be flat saved as well, with no nagging filename dialog popping up. Additionally, some bugs were found that caused the 'File' menu option in Recipes and Brewing sessions to not be pulled up under certain circumstances, this has been corrected.

So, ALT-F for file, then S for save or A for save as is now working, in the Windows tradition most are familiar to.

  3. Many tiny system errors that affected a very few machines, under very specific circumstances have been corrected. 99% of you never experienced any of these errors, but they are fixed in any case.
