ProMash Tour - Databases

ProMash ships with hundreds of ingredients in the stock ProMash databases. The Separate Databases Style Guidelines, Grain/Extract/Sugar, Hops, Yeast, Water Profiles and Extra Ingredients. The Databases are accessed though the bottom row of buttons on the main screen:

To see the details of each database, choose from one of the following options:

Common Database Functionality

Each of the Database Screens have common elements when you launch them. This includes a list of the ingredients in that particular database, sorting buttons (on the top of the list) and control buttons (for New, Edit, Clone, etc.) or the right of the list. Additional features (such as the ability to show only items in stock, etc.) may be found at the bottom of the list.

As an example, the following is a screen shot of the Grain Database pick list, launched when the Grain Database button is pressed. While the actual ingredients will change, all other databases operate in a similar fashion:

As You can see, the list above is currently sorted by name. But what if you want to sort by SRM color? Simply hit the SRM sort button and whala (and if you pressed the SRM button again, the list would be sorted in the reverse order):

What if you only wanted to view the extract entries in the database? Simply click on the "Extract" radio button at the bottom of the screen and whala, extract entries only:

The control buttons (to add, edit, import, clone, or set inventory) in the databases are all located on the right hand side of the ingredients list. The following image shows the "Edit" button about to be pressed, which will launch the database editor for the highlighted entry. Additionally, the user may simply "double-click" on any entry to launch the Edit feature.

Inventory features work the same throughout all databases (were applicable) and all share the common features of being able to both add or subtract (automatic subtraction for a brewed recipe is a feature in brewing sessions) quantities in stock, zero the quantity and/or the amount to be added or subtracted.

Once you've entered inventory it will then be displayed in the ingredients list. You can also choose to sort the list showing only the items you have in stock, should you desire.
