Stand-alone Calculators, Hydrometer Correction

Brewers will often need to take hydrometer readings at high temperature (monitoring mash run-off for instance). However, as hydrometers are usually calibrated for readings at 60 F, you have 2 choices of what to do in order to get an accurate reading; 1) let the sample cool to 60 F and take the reading or 2) Use the Hydrometer Correction Calculator to get your reading instantly.

Simply enter the current gravity reading, and the temperature of the reading and ProMash will tell you what the gravity would be if the sample was at 60 F (or the hydrometers calibration value if different than 60 F).

Because this calculator is so useful it is imbedded into recipes, brewing sessions and other stand-alone calculators in every place a hydrometer reading can be entered.
