The thermometer measures degrees
Fahrenheit from 25 degrees to 105 degrees. This is a mecury thermometer, with a
very thin glass shaft running through the middle of the main shaft. It is
mounted on an ivory backing, with protective braces on the top and bottom. The
serial number of the hydrometer may or may not be stamped on the thermometer,
as it was of less verification importance to the tax collectors of the day
(the weight set and float were the main items needing verification).
This thermometer is in working condition and at the time the scan was taken, if
you look close enough at the detail picture you can see it is reading 74
degrees.
